We've been watching a great series on Disney+ titled "The Imagineering Story," which chronicles how Walt Disney built a team of artists and engineers to bring his theme park dreams to life. It's an inspiring watch, because of what this creative, resourceful group of men and women was able to accomplish, but also because of the sheer volume of ideas Walt Disney had floating around in his head. Hisimagination seemed endless! I bet you have a lot of ideas floating around in your head, too; things you want to do or create, changes you want to make in your life, places you want to go. I know I do. (And I'm not fortunate enough to be surrounded by a world-class team of artists and engineers...) But often the more ideas, the more crippled we become by inaction, because we don't know which one to choose or how to get started or where to begin.
Well, Walt Disney knew where to begin, and his answer is startlingly simple: "begin." That's it. "Begin." Don't wait for that world-class team to show up, don't wait for permission, don't wait until you're confident you won't fail. Don't wait. Begin.
So do two things for me: after you've watched "Hamilton" and "The Mandalorian" on Disney+, devour "The Imagineering Story;" and pick a idea in your head, quit dreaming about it, and just begin.
